Last Thursday, FedEx delivered to my house the new 7Artisans 25mm f0.95 lens and also the new 7Artisans 35mm f1.4 APSC. Of course I was highly attracted by the f0.95 and started to shoot and test this one first. The results of these tests you can read on the blog entries before. One outcome, next to a high optical performance of that lens was, due to the 11 lenses a long and heavy lens. A price you pay for that performance.
This evening I produced an unboxing video of the new 7Artisans 35mm f1.4 APSC and also took first pictures of the lens on my Fujifilm X-PRO2 Black. What a difference. Yes it has the same very high build quality with a full metal housing and the same anodized and polished lens mount but due to the “lower” aperture opening ,less glass is needed for that lens which makes it nice compact and very light weight.
I am now really looking forward to start the test shooting to explore the optical quality. A while ago I compared the 7Artisans 35mm f1.2 MK1 and the 7Artisans 35mm f0.95 to the Zeiss Touit 32mm f1.8 35mm third-party lens comparison for Fujifilm FX mount. During this test I had to notice that the IQ of the 7Artisans 35mm f1.2 MK1 is limited but this lens is light weight and it’s fun to shoot with, a lens with character. I am looking forward to compare this lens to the new 7Artisans 35mm f1.4 APSC the haptic and build quality is better with a similar small footprint. Samples coming soon.
