Landschafts Park Duisburg and the iPhone 16 Pro Max with ProCamera

The best place to test the 48 Mega Pixel resolution of the iPhone 16 Pro Max is an historical industrial aerial named Landschafts Park Duisburg, a former Steel Manufacturing location of Thyssen Krupp.
It has been a rainy day and during taking the pictures there was drizzle. Take this in to account while you look to the pictures. The dark weather is giving this surrounding of a lost place a special atmosphere of an apocalyptic world. Some parts of the Hunger games have been filmed in this place.

I used again the ProCamera App to take and process the pictures and the 24mm fusion lens of the IPhone 16 Pro MAX with 48 Megapixels. My test today has been, does it make sense to use this high resolution of 48 Megapixels or does it make more sense as the Apple App does, to reduce the resolution to 12 Megapixels. Apple combines 4 image pixels to one. This reduces noise in the image as the light of 4 pixels reduces the need of amplifying the signal.

Verdict

I am once again impressed of the image quality of the IPhone 16 Pro Max cameras. The details without noise and color fringes is amazing. What might even have been the quality and details in a bright sunny day. The iPhone using the original Apple App was already great the advantages brought by the ProCamera App are more than exciting. I get more control of the image process and the JPG processing by the App is matching my taste. The downside of taking 48 Megapixels images are instead of around 8 Megabyte file size for 12 Megapixels pictures, up to 52 Megabyte per image, Now one can understand why I have chosen the 1TB version of the iPhone 16 Pro Max and a 2TB big iCloud from Apple.
