Rare moment to produce sun stars with the SANDMARC filter in autumn
In the last two weeks I am experimenting with the SANDMARC sun star filter. The weather has been bad with heavy clouds, heavy rain and no sun at all. Today, in between the dark clouds there has been some sun and I rushed out to shoot with my new star filter from SANDMARC. The iPhone cameras, due to their small sensor size and the fact that there is no physical diaphragm, are not able to create sun stars. The filter, mounted in front of the iPhone lens offers the star effect on every bright single light source, e.g. like the sun. By turning the filter, you produce 4- and 8-star beams. Also the position between the beams can be changed by turning. See those 6 samples below. I can tell it´s fun to play around with this filter. I took the images with the Leica Lux App and the Fjorden Grip for better control of lens simulations and aperture and solid grip of the iPhone. All four (iPhone, Filter, Grip and Leica Lux App) are a perfect combination to shoot very interesting images.
