A big part of the daily life of the people in India is taking place on the street. The streets in India are like a long stretched market place. People buy there their clothing, working tools, electronics, drinks and food. Vegetables, fruits, bread, rice and many more ingredients to cook at home but also a lot of prepared street food are offered all around the place. Those street market places are noisy and colorful, the offerings rich on varieties. People come together for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just to make a break to smoke a cigarette and enjoy a cup of tea.
One evening, after a long day at a customer, my Indian colleagues invited me to a quick snack on the street. We had a vegetarian burger, a mix of vegetables with spicy herbs in a soft bunny. The yellow round things, looking like corn, are very crispy peanuts. Delicious, soft bunny with the vegetables and spicy and the crispy nuts. They should offer this in Germany as street food and I am sure it would be selling very successful. With it came a fresh brewed tea with milk in a clay pot. The clay gives the tea a taste of barbeque. Very unique. After enjoying the street food, people wash their hands and drink some water from the street sanitary station, which you will see on one of the images. All in all an unforgettable experience.
I took these images with the TTArtisan 23mm f1.4 on my Fujifilm X-PRO3 Black. The combination of this compact lens and the X-PRO3 is the perfect tool to shoot street pictures. The camera is not disturbing the people as a DSLR Style paparazzo camera with a big zoom lens, they simply ignore it and behave just normal. It´s there and takes great pictures. All what I need and want.
