7Artisans 24mm f1.4 on Fujifilm X-PRO3
7Artisans has released a new lens, focal length 24mm with an maximum opening of 1.4. Again a mechanical extrem well build lens with clickless aperature ring that closes down to f16. The lens mount is tight but easy to mount. No play or any weakness. It´s a full metal manual lens. The smoothness of the run of the focos ring is a dream. it allows the full control of the field of depth without any lagging known from autofocus lenses used for manual focusing. Yes, it´s state of the art to focus with linear motors but nothing can replace the outstanding haptic of mechanical gearing on manual focussing. The well damped focussing is a dream and motivates me “old” guy to get creative and to explore the world with this light sensitive but still very compact lens.
