The complete set of film emulsion simulations of the Fujifilm X-PRO 3
The ultimate reason why I have fallen in love with the Fujifilm camera system, is the possibility to setup the camera in a way that without post processing the wanted image result can be produced. The last bit to achieve that result is the use of the simulation of the film emulations. The same thing I have done 46 years ago when I used manual cameras with films. I have chosen the right film type, like an Ilford HP5 or FP4 to realize the picture result fitting to the imaging situation. Perfectly the same thing I can do today with my Fujifilm camera.
As in the past choosing the right film for the situation, it´s also today a challenge to pick the right film simulation. Yes, today it is very convenient to choose as Sim, take a picture and check the result on the LCD screen. Still, the LCD is to me too small to see the real result.
Due to that reason, I produced this blog entry. I have chosen a wonderful red roses bouquet of flowers and took a picture with all the different simulations available with the Fujifilm X-PRO 3.
The Black and White sims I also combined with the yellow, red and green filter setting to show the difference in result.
My preferred film simulation for these flowers is the Classic Neg. The colors are looking real, and this simulation is producing to me the most depth into the image, something I love a lot.
Please provide me with feedback which film simulation you prefer for this setup?
