The new 7Artisans 50mm f0.95 has arrived.
The first haptic impression of this new lens is outstanding. The lens has a high quality finishing. The focus and aperture ring is moving well damped and what I immediately notice is the fact that this lens is much better balanced on my Fujifilm X-PRO2 Black than the 7Artisans 35mm f0.95. I can’t wait for the weekend to use this wonderful tool in practice. Stay tuned for more…
An unboxing movie, an intense test on the test chart and many sample pictures will follow soon.

I just ordered a copy of this lens. Wondering what lens hood you have for it?
Great to hear that you ordered the wonderful Firefly 7Artisans 50mm f0.95. This is to me one of the best 7Artisans lenses. Mechnical as well optical.
I am a fan of vented lens hoods, they are more lightweight and are looking less bulky. Still they are preventing light to enter side wise into the lens which can reduce contrast and at the end also the image resolution. I made a test with and without lens hood on the Firefly 7Artisans 25mm f0.95.
I am ordering the vented metal lens hoods (62mm for the 7Artisans 50mm f0.95 lens) at Amazon and you get them for arround 10€. Only if you are ordering lens hoods for wider lenses you must take care that they are not to bulky and create vignetting in the corners. Something that will not quick happen on the 50mm lens.
Hi Malte, do you mind sharing the link to the lens hood? Many thanks in advance.
Thanks for asking.
It’s a very simple metal vented 62ø lens hood from Amazon for 7,39€.
This is the link to the product on the German Amazon page.
